POSITION: Chief Executive Officer - CEO Location: Washington, DC
REQ# HCA- JA1 Salary Range: $250K - $300K Base
REQUIREMENTS:
The Chief Executive Officer will be a proven, highly-skilled leader in the alternative energy field, with extensive experience implementing comprehensive product development strategies and bringing diverse business leaders together in a private partnership for sustainable success. The CEO will demonstrate the highest levels of integrity, honesty, and openess to create strong and enduring relationships to benefit the Company.
We are looking for a CEO to work closely with the inventor/founder to further identify and access investors for immediate fundraising needs. Additional responsibilities will include developing the product and marketing strategy, leading branding efforts, taking charge of the business and financial operations and identifying and accessing potential customers.
The CEO reports to the Chairman and CEO of Parent Company and is responsible for the overall success of the corporation; including the management and oversight of the annual budget and management team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and communicate the corporate vision to the media and private investors.
- Coordinate the preparation of and execute both the strategic and tactical plans.
- Lead the management team.
- Build stakeholder and key customer relationships in both the private and public sector.
- Engage and coordinate activities with the state’s (Connecticut) economic development network.
- Advocate for the company product expansion plan.
- Primary spokesperson for company
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of ten years of related professional, progressive alternative energy development or related experience with five years of executive leadership experience.
- Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry; a PhD. in Chemistry would be a plus.
- Prefer Graduate from the Service Academy.
- Excellent communication ability (written and oral), including proven advocacy skills.
- Demonstrated ability to translate organizational vision into action.
- Demonstrated ability to identify business drivers and the impact of policies and regulations on business success.
- Proven track record of mentoring and motivating staff to accomplish organizational objectives.
- Ability to anticipate trends and develop strategies and accordingly.
- Have proven success with multiple start-ups with a strong focus on fundraising.
- Have a large and current database/rolodex of investors you can call on and have immediate or quick buy-in because of your previous successes.
- Have a track record of taking a prototype or pre-prototype and taking it to market
- Be able to wrap your head around a scientific product; just enough to be able to create a compelling market strategy and story.
- Have a passion for and confidence in new and disruptive technology and understand how to promote it effectively.
- Be able to work with little to no infrastructure and build a solid organization and team.
- Be able to gain an audience with DOD, DOE and DARPA stakeholders; have relationships at the Flag Officer (3 Star/4 Star) level plus Capitol Hill experience and government labs with an objective of capturing large government R&D contracts.
- Reside within a commutable distance to the Pentagon.
